Dates:

PK-8th Grade: June 8, 2026- July 9, 2026 (no classes on June 18, July 2), Monday-Thursday

Time:

Grades PK-4 8:00 am- 2:30 pm

Grades 5-8 9:00 am- 3:30 pm

Registration:

Cost & Eligibility: Summer school is free and available only to currently enrolled RPS students.

Invitations (Grades PreK-8): Attendance for students in grades PreK-8 is by invitation only. Invitations are sent directly through ParentSquare. If you haven't already, please sign up for a ParentSquare account to check if your student was invited.

How to Register: If your student was invited, you will find a unique QR code inside your ParentSquare invitation. Scan the code to complete registration.

Locations or Rising 6th Graders: All rising 6th-grade students will attend their program at designated middle school summer sites.

Transportation: Bus transportation will be provided for students attending summer school within their regular enrollment zone.

Summer Recreation and Parks Students: If your student is already enrolled in a City of Richmond Parks and Recreation summer program, please email summerschool@rvaschools.net. Transportation wil be provided after summer school to select Parks and Recreation sites. 

RPS 200 School Exceptions: Due to the 2026-27 RPS 200 calendar, K-4th grade student from Cardinal ES, Farfield Court ES, Oak Grove-Bellemeade ES, and Woodville ES will not attend summer school in 2026. Note: Select 5th-grade students from these schools will still be invited.
